Francesca Ruiz De Luzuriaga
In 2012, Francesca “Cesca” Luzuriaga joined the Board of SCAN Health Plan, a nonprofit Medicare Advantage health plan that serves older adults in California. She previously served as Chair of the Board and the Audit Committee, and currently is the Chair of its Corporate Governance Committee. Until December 2021, Ms. Luzuriaga served as a Director on the Office Depot Board where she was on the Governance Committee and chaired the Compensation Committee. She first joined this board in 1998 when the company was Boise Cascade; the name change occurred after the purchase of OfficeMax (now Office Depot) in 2003. She has also served on the Board and Audit Committee of SuperValu and Mossimo, and as a Board Member and Audit Committee Chair for Providian Financial.
A retired independent business development consultant, Ms. Luzuriaga had a distinguished 18-year career at Mattel where she held numerous financial and administrative positions, including Controller, Treasurer, and Chief Financial Officer as well as Chief Operating Officer for the company’s interactive division. Prior to Mattel, she worked as a Financial Analyst in the manufacturing division of Xerox. Ms. Luzuriaga holds an MBA from the University of Southern California and a bachelor’s degree from Pomona College.
