Olivia Burns serves as the Senior Policy Analyst for The SCAN Foundation. In this role, she supports the Foundation’s policy, communications, and program staff by tracking and analyzing trends in federal and state policy, communications, and programmatic efforts that may impact the continuum of care for older adults, people with disabilities, and their family caregivers. Previously, Olivia served as the Aging Texas Well Coordinator in the Office of Aging Services Coordination at the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, where she analyzed state and federal aging policy and led the development of the state’s Multisector Plan for Aging.
Olivia holds a master’s degree in Social Work with a focus in Gerontology and Administrative and Policy Practice from the Steve Hicks School of Social Work at the University of Texas at Austin. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Texas Woman’s University. In her free time, Olivia enjoys reading, crafting, and spending time with her spouse, dog, and three cats.
