Igniting Bold Change: A Vision for the Year Ahead

To Our Community,

As we start 2025, we are filled with gratitude and hope as we continue to work toward building a future where all older adults age with dignity and purpose. This year, we are excited to introduce new board members whose expertise and passion will help keep us focused on our mission of igniting bold and equitable changes in how older adults age, in both home and community.

We recognize the challenges many in our community are facing. The devastating Palisades, Altadena, and additional fires that have impacted countless lives here in Southern California underscore the importance of prioritizing equitable, timely, and accessible support for marginalized older adults, who often bear the greatest burden during such crises. It also showcases the need to keep focused on making existing structures work better to deliver home and community care and supports.

In the face of adversity, we continue to be inspired by the resilience of older adults and the strength of the organizations and communities that support them. These experiences deepen our commitment to driving systemic change – both through strategic grantmaking and impact investments – and fostering innovative partnerships that catalyze new approaches to serving our priority populations.

As we look ahead, we will continue to listen to and uplift the voices of older adults so that their lived experiences shape the policies and programs that serve them during this time of rebuilding and beyond. In doing so, we aim to create a society where all older adults, regardless of race or ethnicity, income, or geography, can age with dignity, purpose, and the resources they deserve.

Together, we are building a future where aging well is a reality for everyone. Onward.
